ABOUT BOSZ ARCH, INC. 

HISTORY

Founded in Southern California in 1990 as Bosz Architecture by Gary Bosz, the company established itself designing and developing industrial and commercial concrete tilt-up construction buildings up to 425,000 square feet. These facilities included business parks, industrial buildings, office buildings, restaurants, and animal care facilities.

Cold Storage, 1991
Our first cold storage warehouse tenant improvement facility was designed in 1991 with Clarion Construction as the contractor, then other large food-related cold storage facilities and cold storage tenant improvements quickly became the norm for the business. This continual food-related business influx provided opportunities for company growth, and a new business office in Irvine, California. More employees were added as the company expanded and continued to specialize in the food services industry, which now included cold storage warehousing, distribution, and food processing. Bosz Architecture continued to provide services in industrial office and building development as well as tenant improvements and specialty projects, but the firm's core focus became cold storage warehousing and food processing.

Briefly downsized during the economic slowdown, the business was incorporated and renamed Bosz Arch, Inc. in 2011. It is now family owned and operated, as family members joined the company.

Years of Service
We have continued, for the last 28 years, to provide customer-focused service to our clients and have built a strong reputation specializing in the food industry. Still dedicated and committed to our clients, many of which are now repeat customers, we continue to provide services, and now a wealth of knowledge, to our clients in the industrial cold storage, food manufacturing, and food distribution industries.

We are specialists in the industrial cold storage and food processing industry, whether it is a new facility, an addition to an existing facility, or a tenant improvement. It's what we do best. We also have experience in industrial buildings and business parks, manufacturing facilities, medical storage, veterinary hospitals, and specialty projects.

Over 400 Projects, 28 Years
Experience in food-related architecture is Bosz Arch, Inc.'s most valuable asset to a client. We have earned a solid reputation in the industrial cold storage, distribution, and food processing marketplaces. With over 28 years of dedicated service to our clients, and more than 400 projects behind us, we have earned the trust of owners, contractors, subcontractors, developers, real estate professionals, and city and county agencies.

Experience & NCARB Certification
Our staff has extensive experience in cold storage and food processing design, function, and warehousing for facilities from 200 square feet to 600,000 square feet. We design areas for specialized equipment, storage rack systems, temperature-controlled spaces, refrigeration systems, processing areas, offices, and other ancillary spaces. Our experience and depth of knowlege allows us to provide creative solutions for a well-designed site, and a functional, safe, sanitary, and thermally-controlled facility that meets the needs of our client, however specialized those needs may be. And, with principal hands-on involvement and NCARB certification, our clients receive the maximum degree of experience and expertise on every project to deliver the project on-time and on budget in any state in the United States.

Bosz Arch, Inc. is very familiar with the storage and processing of food and beverage, and the unique challenges and stringent USDA, FDA, sanitary, state, and local regulations. We understand the demanding 24/7 nature of the food industry.

Practice Makes Perfect
Each of our projects is unique. There are no cookie-cutter food processing or cold storage projects. Each has its own limitations, requirements, and regulations. We have learned, and continue to learn, from a wealth of experiences on our past projects. For example, one of our recent projects, a commercial kitchen, has federal TSA requirements which mandate having a secure facility and specialty areas for item inspection.

We have amassed a large body of knowledge through successful completion of food-related facility projects, large and small, including those commonly called a box-in-a-box. That expertise encompasses many factors, including freezer floor thickness and design, thermal vapor barrier detailing, dock and traffic door protection, structural support of refrigeration units, and seismic bracing of walls, ceilings, and equipment.

We continue to learn from our experiences, which helps us become better, more knowledgeable architects.

Gary Bosz

GARY BOSZ

Principal Architect, NCARB

A California architect since 1976, Gary has over 43 years of experience in customer-focused architectural service to clients. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University, with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Gary began his career working for a large restaurant architectural firm, became an Associate of that firm and focused for 13 years on restaurant design, drawings and construction management of several major restaurant chains throughout the United States.

Additionally, he expanded his understanding of restaurant design as Director of Architecture for a large food service equipment company for two years, specializing in restaurant design, fabrication and installation for restaurants and hospitality projects nationwide, holding licenses in seven states.

Since starting his own firm in 1990, he has overseen all areas of architectural design in business, industrial, commercial, medical and manufacturing facilities. These included numerous concrete tilt-up construction buildings as well as tenant improvements. For the last twenty-eight (28) years he has been primarily focused on industrial and commercial food warehouse, distribution, and processing projects ranging from 200 square feet to 600,000 square feet, both cold storage and non-refrigerated facilities in Arizona, Colorado, and throughout California.

With his wealth of knowledge and experience in the challenging requirements of the food industry, he has earned a strong reputation for quality performance and dedicated service to his clients. He has been a member of AIA, is currently a member of NCARB and has held licenses in Georgia, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Texas and Virginia, as well as California. He draws on his extensive experience and expertise in several areas to design and develop plans tailored to the specific needs and goals of each client, however complex or specialized those needs may be.

Cody Bosz

CODY BOSZ

President, Senior Project Manager/Project Estimator

Cody joined the family architectural firm in 2008 and has overseen all aspects of the financial business management as well as project production. He has 10 years of experience in providing architectural services for the industrial cold storage and food processing industries for projects ranging from 200 square feet to 150,000+ square feet. Those services include project design and estimating, site planning, construction documents, coordination and collaboration with construction and engineering consultants and coordination with city and county public agencies.

Proficient and experienced in Autodesk REVIT® and BIM 360, his capabilities in that area allow Bosz Arch, Inc. to deliver the latest state-of-the-art construction drawings and specifications and collaborate with other team members on a project in real-time to reduce revisions prior to and during construction.

In delivering project design, coordination, production and management, he takes pride in his ability to craft innovative solutions to complex problems and to work with clients, contractors and consultants in all building trades as well as city and county agencies toward obtaining a building permit.

His goal is to provide exceptional service, quality construction documents and government agency coordination on a timely basis, on budget, to meet the goals and expectations of the client.
